By now the 3 of you who actually check this blog know that Daniel and I got engaged last night. As my inbox fills up with congratulations, I realized I don't want to delete them without noting how funny some reactions were to the news/the photo I texted out!

Daniel for a good cause!

Daniel contributed a beautiful version of "What Child is This" to a holiday compilation aiming to raise money for some good causes in the area. You can listen for free or download it for $5 and choose which organization you want your $5 to go to.

The first is an organization that uses sports programs for area children, the middle is the local NPR station and the last is an arts/music program for kids.

It's been a while since I've posted anything of substance (and this may not be it!) but here is a short video of Alexander (now about 2 1/2 months) being his normal happy self. He got a bath today, so he's especially snuggly, I think. Lately, he's all about the smiles.

Quick Trip to the Cider Mill

Another boy to our brood!

Alexander Scott Baidas joined the world today at 5:08 p.m., measuring 21" long and weighing a whopping 9 lbs. 3 oz.! The biggest Baidas boy yet!

I took two crazy boys to meet their new brother, an experience I'm so lucky to have shared with them. On the way there, Lucas said, "So, me, Anthony, Papa and Alexander...four boys. Mama's all alone." I said, well, if I come over...and bring Claire..." to which he replied, "There still won't be as many girls though. Alex makes one more."

And, in true "Kids say the darndest things" fashion, Lucas of course had to ask his Mama, "Why are you still fat?" Just what you want to hear about an hour after giving birth, right? As you can see, though, Sarah looks amazing. You'd never know.

Anyway, it was hilarious to watch the boys, one minute totally ignoring the new baby, the other minute, staring in awe. Lucas was more afraid of him than anything at first, getting as far away from his as possible and plugging his ears when he started to cry.

Sorry I've been totally slacking on the blog lately -- hopefully someone of you will take me up on my offer to post! Either way, sorry if I missed some birthdays (not that any of them read the blog! Ha!)

Visitors!

I got some visitors today! It was the longest I have been on my feet in a week and I think it's safe to say we're all going to sleep well tonight. :) Great to see my munchkins and get some get well smooches though! Both Sarah and I are moving pretty slowly, but between the two of us we should equal one fully capable guardian by the time I head back to the front lines next week! I'm currently mowing through the pack of Neco Wafers they brought me -- I think they have healing powers.

T minus 25 days to baby time! This baby is measuring pretty darn big, so maybe we'll see him or her before the Aug. 31 due date? (But you have to admit, Sarah looks great, huh?)

Though they said they were going to visit me "on bed rest" about two seconds after they entered my bedroom, they took off to see the cats.

For the first time I got to see really how sweet Lucas is with animals. He is so sweet and gentle with them. And was sure to stick to Tobias, after I told him Tobias will always let you pet him, but sometimes Lucy gets a little cranky.

There were some fun things at Titi's that they don't have at their house. Not too long after this, they got out Grandma June's Boggle, which is housed in my coffee table.

More sweetness.

The Lego's, which haven't been played with in a couple of months, got cat hair all over Anthony's shirt, so I nabbed a lint brush. Anthony then took to lint brushing the floors, the chairs, my feet even!

They were pretty big fans of our new couch and "the secret" way it reclines.

I know I'm missing birthdays left and right, but I'm all laid up and it's Daniel's birthday, so.... Happy Birthday Dan! He turns 34 today (just a couple of months younger than Sarah and Nick!)

He's spending the day taking care of me, mowing the lawn and going to the gym. Good times!

Dinnertime surprise!

Sarah and Loren were eating dinner on the deck the other night when they got a little surprise at their house. Check it out!

Apparently a couple was out for a ride (with a host) and the wind just stopped. So they had no choice but to land. Loren even got a bit of the champagne the couple had (which comes with a ride). Too bad the boys were in bed!
